Kids of all ages are invited to join us in the Education Room on Saturday afternoons from 1 to 5 pm to enjoy hands-on, drop-in activities. Families can explore Nevada topics through demonstrations, activities, and art projects. No registration is required, and programs are free with regular museum admission. Saturday, June 18th Becoming Animal Our Changing Gallery exhibit highlights the animals that share our planet, as well as the challenges to their survival. Learn ways we can all contribute to making their world (and ours!) a better place.
Saturday, June 25th Exploring Nevada Calling all explorers! Come see some historic maps from our collections, go on a treasure hunt, and even make your own maps.
Saturday, July 2nd Pioneer Celebrations How did the pioneers celebrate the Fourth of July holiday? Learn this and much more as we explore all things covered wagon.
Saturday, July 9th Showtime! Las Vegas is world famous for its shows. Explore your inner superstar by making your own headdress, practicing your puppeteering skills, and learning some magic tricks.
Saturday, July 16th Deserts Around the World How does our Mojave Desert compare to other deserts around the world? We'll get our passports and take a tour of Earth's hottest and driest places.
Saturday, July 23rd Secrets of Flowers Take a peek at the museum’s plant collections, learn how and why we make herbarium specimens, and take an up-close look at flower parts.
Saturday, July 30th Nevada Artists See some samples of Nevada artwork and try out some artistic techniques yourself. 
Saturday, August 6th Summertime Our Mojave Desert holds the world record for the hottest temperature ever recorded, yet people have lived here for thousands of years, and animals have lived here for even longer! Explore ways that people and animals can beat the heat.
Saturday, August 13th Battle Born Learn about Nevada’s role in the major conflicts that define our nation’s history.
