History for our Holidays - Nevada Day Event 

A wonderful FREE event to celebrate with family and friends at Nevada's oldest museum in Reno this coming Saturday.

We have many activities for the kids include gold panning, face painting, kid's craft table, three-legged and sack races and a Broadway boot camp. There will be demonstrations for all ages include spinning & weavers blacksmithing and Tango dancing. Don't miss our entertainment that is scheduled throughout the day from music from Shiloh and listen to Cowboy poetry by Tony Argento.

You will have an opportunity to get started on your holiday shopping with our vendors being on-hand to discuss their work and sell their wares. Don't worry, if you get hungry, Battle Born food truck and Hillbilly Kettle Korn will be onsite throughout the day!

The Nevada Historical Society's 3rd Annual American Gaming Archives Chip Dig and Gambling Lectures. Are you interested in gaming history? This year we are showcasing three fascinating gaming and gambling history lectures.

11-12pm - The History of Faro by Russell Umbraco

1-2pm - Reno's Bank Club: The Early Center of the Nevada Gaming Universe by Michael Fischer

3-4pm - Card Art - Marked Cards - Ren 'em & Reap by Howard Herz.

The Reno Gallery will be alive with a variety of vendors showcasing their amazing collection of gaming chips. This is a gaming collectibles show featuring a limited number of dealers of gaming memorabilia.
