THE FEY SLOT MACHINE COLLECTION AT THE NEVADA STATE MUSEUM
The Fey family slot machine collection highlights 28 machines designed by pioneer slot machine manufacturer, inventor and operator, Charles August Fey (1862-1944). He is considered the inventor of the first mechanical three-reel slot machine called the Liberty Bell, which provided the basic design for all future slot machines. Even today's slot machines, though completely different in the way they work, are still recognizable as descendents of the Liberty Bell. The historic gaming machines on exhibit date from 1895 to 1937.
A special thank you to The 74th Session of the Nevada State Legislature for their support and to Marshall Fey for donating his time, knowledge, enthusiasm and the use of material from his book; Slot Machines: America's Favorite Gaming Device, Sixth Edition by Marshall Fey
