The Nevada State Museum invites you to view -The Hal Dunn Collection- Postcards and Documents from The United States Mint in Carson City, Nevada

Image Hal V. Dunn was a published author, an avid collector of exonumia, and a passionate student of western history, particularly the history of Nevada. His passion and commitment to The Mint were demonstrated when he wrote, "There is a certain romance about the Mint of the United States at Carson City, Nevada, formerly designated as the United States Branch Mint at Carson City. It has a special quality not shared by our other Federal minting institutions - past and present. It is a part of the 'Old West."

The Hal Dunn Collection contains historic postcards of the Carson City Mint and scenes of Carson City, ledger books, bullion deposit forms, memos, receipts, official U.S. Mint correspondence, and other documents relating to daily business at the U.S. Branch Mint, Carson City.

To learn more about Hal V. Dunn's life and his contributions to the field of exonumia, go to the Nevada State Museum Newsletter, Volume XXXVII, Number 3, August 2007, Page 5.
