Carson City Mint Coin Show (8:30 am)

The Nevada State Museum, formerly the Carson City Mint, hosts an annual coin show every August, featuring the finest in coins and collectibles, .999 fine silver medallions minted on Coin Press No. 1, food sales, children's activities, gold panning, and raffle prizes every hour!  The 2012 show is Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25. Dealers offer free appraisals. Regular admission: $8 for adults (includes coin show and museum exhibits); FREE FOR MEMBERS AND CHILDREN 17 AND UNDER. Behind The Scenes Tours In Natural History (10:00 am)

Join Curator of Natural History, Dr. George Baumgardner, for a tour "behind the scenes" to see natural history specimens not on display, get a sneak peak at the Discovery Lab, and learn more about future plans for natural history exhibit development.  Advanced registration is required and tours are limited to 6 people.  Regular admission fee: $8 for adults; FREE FOR MEMBERS AND CHILDREN 17 AND UNDER.  To reserve your space, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
