Nevada Proud - Channel 4 News

News 4 is starting a new campaign to celebrate Nevada called Nevada Proud. It's an effort to honor and celebrate Nevada's rich and colorful history that is unlike any other.

News 4 is joining in the effort working with state officials, the Nevada Hstorical Society, and people just like you to bring you stories about Nevada's rich history, the people who built this state, and the people who continue to help make it a great place to live.

The Society was excited with the opportunity to share photographs as Nevada gears up for Nevada's Sesquicentennial celebrations.

Annual Docent Luncheon - April 3, 2013

The annual Fordham Awards Luncheon was a great success and was enjoyed by all. The staff would like to thank our docent council for their continued support at the Society. We truly appreciate all the hours donated this past year.

School Tours 2013

The Society has an amazing group of educational tour guides for school and adult tours of our history galleries. School tours are always free are what a great way to learn about Nevada's past. Are you a teacher, scout leader or work with kids? Have you thought about scheduling a tour? Our galleries are small so partnering up with the Fleischmann Planetarium is a great way for the kids to enjoy the tour and get two tours for the price of one. Don't forget that the Society is only open Wednesday thru Saturday, 10am to 5pm. For more information, please contact Christine Johnson at 775-688-1190 ext. 231 or email her at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
