Santa and Mrs. Claus will start the holidays off on the right track by boarding the Santa Train, a holiday treat for the entire family beginning Dec. 8 at the Nevada State Museum in Boulder City. The very real Santa Train features a half-hour ride down the historic tracks of the Boulder Branch Line aboard the Nevada Southern Railway.

The Santa Train runs Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 8 through 23, every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The event features display of the 1875 Eureka steam locomotive and a model train exhibit. Also, included are Santa’s North Pole mailbox, Santa’s sleigh photo spot, food and cocoa for sale and Santa Train stickers for all of the children.

The train departs from the Nevada State Railroad Museum Depot one-half block north of the intersection of U.S. 93 and Yucca Street in Boulder City.  Visitors are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure for the popular event.  Tickets are available for sale on the event dates, but advance purchase is recommended.  Santa Train tickets are $5 per person, one year of age and older.  Tickets can be purchased  Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Museum Office, 600 Yucca Street.  On Saturdays and Sundays, tickets are available at 601 Yucca Street from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  For more information call 702-486-5006 or visit www.nevadaculture.org.
