|Beastly Encounters at Nevada State Museum|
Families are invited to explore “Beastly Encounters” at a special Nevada State Museum program from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. The activity continues the museum’s Family Fun Saturdays series. Children will explore how learning to observe animal signs, tracks and scat can help identify which animals have been in an area and how clues can tell about animal behavior too.
Participants will learn about wild animal diversity in Nevada.
In groups of eight, visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a 30-minute art or science activity best suited for children ages 6-11. Guests can choose from skulls and scat, habitat and diet, or tracks and feet presentations. The craft activity includes making a bookmark with animal tracks to take home.
