OVERTON, Nev.- The Lost City Museum presents an exhibit by artist Janet Trobough during April. Displaying a variety of media, the show will feature artwork depicting western scenes and Native American themes in rustic earthy tones. Trobough is an expert at burning and etching gourds using turquoise, silver and malachite embellishments. Her decorative gourds have been shown in galleries throughout the Southwest. Trobough spent many years in the beauty industry in Portland Oregon before moving to Seattle. The highlight of her career was being made Artistic Director in charge of education for a chain of salons in Oregon, she said. She later joined a European design team based in Seattle and in 1998 fulfilled her dream when she became an artist full time. She moved to Overton and studied under artist Max Bunnell, where she fell in love with watercolor media.
