The museum will be open Friday through Monday, 10 am to 6 pm

 

Q. How much will it cost to visit the new museum?
A.

General adult admission is $9.95 which includes all access to the Las Vegas Springs Preserve; children under the age of 18 are admitted free to the museum and are charged $4.95 to visit the Springs Preserve campus

 

Q. What kind of exhibits will there be at the new museum?
A. The Nevada State Museum will offer an interactive visitor experience that interprets the history of Nevada dating back millions of years to the present. Across a 13,000 square-foot permanent exhibit gallery visitors will find how geology shaped the Great Basin and Nevada, learn of the early flora and fauna that roamed this once great sea. Hear the story of Native Americans, pioneers, early settlers, miners, railroaders, ranchers and entrepreneurs. Learn about the Hoover Dam, the atomic era and the rise of Las Vegas as the resort capital of the world. The museum also features a research library, educational labs and a store.

 

Q. Will the museum have the same phone number?
A. Our main phone number will remain 702.486.5205 but our staff extensions will change. There may be some disruption as service is switched over from Lorenzi Park to the Springs Preserve. We will post the new extensions as soon as they are available.
