CARSON CITY, Nevada State Railroad Museum, Carson City - June 2010 Excursion Schedule: Saturday, June 5 Edwards Motor Car Saturday, June 12 Edwards Motor Car Saturday, June 19 Steam Train – V&T No. 25 Saturday, June 26 Edwards Motor Car Trains depart from the historic Wabuska Depot at the museum from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. The Edwards Railway Motor Car Company was formed in the early 1920s by Harry P. Edwards to construct gasoline-powered railcars, or "doodlebugs" as they were commonly called. The cars were marketed primarily for shortline and branchline service. Motor Car fares are $4.00 for adults 12 and up; $2.00 for children 4 to 11 and free for children 3 and under. Fares for steam-ups are $5.00 for adults 12 and up; $3.00 for children 4 to 11 and children 3 and under ride free. The Nevada State Railroad Museum is open Friday through Monday from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The museum is located on Route 395 at the south end of Carson City at the intersection of Fairview Drive.
