This is one of the earliest photos of the mint in 1870, the year coin production began.

Coin Press No. 1, the original press from the Carson City MInt, still works. Visitors can see it in operation the last Friday of every month and can purchase commemorative medallions with the famous CC mint mark at the press or in the Museum Store.

Open Wednesday - Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Due to mandatory state budget restrictions, the museum is closed Sunday - Tuesday.
Beginning July 1, 2013, the museum will be open Tuesday - Sunday (closed Mondays).
